Following a 3 day Monetary Policy Committee meeting, South African Reserve Bank governor, Lesetja Kganyago, has announced a rise in the interest rate of 0.75%. This pushes Prime to 9.75%.
This is good news for our clients as it means that their returns have just increased. If they are growing capital with us then Prime plus 5% means a return of 14.75%. Our clients who depend on an income from their capital then Prime plus 3% means they are seeing a return of 12.75%.
